Putnam Community Action Program Coat Drive is here!

The days are getting shorter, and the temperatures have begun to drop.

Putnam Community Action Program (CAP) has kicked off its annual Winter Coat Drive to collect new coats for children in need.

CAP Director Marisa O’Leary says the program is aimed at “ensuring that every child in Putnam County stays warm and safe during the colder months, regardless of their family’s financial situation.”

CAP is accepting new winter coats with tags on in all sizes for children aged 0–18. Donations can be made at the Putnam CAP office located at 121 Main Street in Brewster.

“We know how difficult it can be for families struggling to make ends meet, and winter coats can often be an unexpected expense. Through this initiative, we hope to ensure that every child has the warmth and protection they need during the winter months,” O’Leary said.

Coats collected during the drive will be distributed to low-income families in Putnam County, ensuring they have access to warm clothing during the coldest months of the year.

In addition to donating a new coat, those wishing to assist may make a financial donation to help Putnam CAP to purchase coats for those in need.

Donations can be made online at www.putnamcap.org
