A recent report from LendingTree reveals that Schenectady has the worst drivers in New York state, while Rome boasts the best drivers with the lowest incident rate. Schenectady's high incident rate includes speeding tickets, at-fault accidents, DUIs, and other violations. Albany also ranks among the top five worst driving cities in the state, with nearly seven incidents per 1,000 drivers.
New Rochelle and Spring Valley in the Hudson Valley also ranked among the top for best drivers. Interestingly, the study found that older generations, such as the Silent Generation and Baby Boomers, had lower accident rates compared to Gen Z drivers.
So the next time you on Rt 9, remember it's about as good as it gets in New York! lol
