How much money would it take for you to quit your job, drop everything, and travel the world?  Someone polled 2,000 Americans, and the average answer was $288,000.  (Or if you want to be specific, $287,731.)

18% said they'd take off for less than $50,000, while 32% said they'd need at least half-a-million.  And this last group either loves their job or hates traveling:  17% said no amount of money could get them to drop everything and leave.

The poll also asked what you'd do if you suddenly had a MILLION-DOLLAR travel budget you had to spend.  Here are the top five answers . . .

1.  Take your family and friends on a dream vacation.

2.  Go on a REALLY long road trip.

3.  Visit as many famous landmarks as you could.

4.  Visit the Seven Wonders of the World, or other historical sites.

5.  Start working on a "travel bucket list."
