- The holiday travel season is here.
- IHG Hotels surveyed 2,000 travelers to find out details about how, where, and when travel will happen this year.
- According to the results:
- For Thanksgiving, most will travel on the day before (November 27th) and will go back home on Saturday, November 30th
- For Christmas, December 23rd will be the day most people leave on a trip, and December 31st is when most will return home.
- Florida is the top destination for those traveling in December, while New York rules the New Year's travel rush.
- Most people, 78 percent, will visit their family, while the other 22 percent will get out of town for different reasons.
